Giulia Vanelli (1996) is a photographer based in Florence, Italy. It was acquired by Smith College Rare Books Library. Her first monograph, Still Breathing, was published in 2022 and reviewed by Lenscratch, PhotoEye and PhotoBook Journal. This past year Julia was an artist-in-residence at the Boulder Creative Collective where she had a solo exhibition of her work, while I wait. She had a solo show at the Center for Photography at Woodstock of her project Still Breathing. Julia has exhibited at The Humble Arts Foundation, The Griffin Museum of Photography, The Center for Photographic Art, Colorado Photographic Art, Boulder Creative Collective, SE Center for Photography, and Center for Fine Photography. She has served as a visiting artist at Guttman College in New York City and was recently awarded a Colorado Artist Relief grant and Boulder Arts Week grant. Now Julia is a full-time freelance editorial, commercial and fine art photographer. Next, as a photo editor, she helped shape the visual aesthetic and storytelling for iconic magazines including Backpacker, Skiing and Outside for more than a decade. Her career began working for Wendy Ewald’s Literacy Through Photography program where she cemented her love of storytelling. Raised in New England, she received a BA in Art History and a minor in photography from Smith College. He also occasionally contributes to New Politics, The Ecologist, Dawn and The News International.Julia Vandenoever is a photo-based artist whose work is generated from a personal perspective exploring themes of memory, identity, place, and home. Zahoor is a member of Haqooq-e-Khalq Party, a grassroots anti-capitalist project in Pakistan. He takes interest in indigenous epistemologies and emerging scientific knowledges in evolutionary biology and life sciences and intends to explore alternative ontologies to lay a new foundation for human-nature relations. His research interests lie in the intersection of philosophy, ecology and technology.

He recently completed an MA in Political Philosophy from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, where he wrote his thesis (“Heidegger, Technology and Thinking: Tracing the Roots of the Ecological Crisis”) under the supervision of philosopher Miguel de Beistegui. He is the editor of a widely-reviewed volume on Pakistan, Rethinking Pakistan: A 21st-Century Perspective (Anthem Press, 2020 Folio Books, 2019). He’s a visiting faculty at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, where he’s teaching a course, Philosophy in a Time of Climate Crisis, at the Department of Liberal Arts.
